Our Story

The Beaumont operated in Lincoln Park for over 40 years as a 4am bar where generations of Chicagoans made (or lost) memories in their early twenties. Opened in 1979, The Beaumont was a cornerstone for young people in the neighborhood for decades. In 2024, we acquired the building and began an ambitious gut-rehab this past spring.

The building itself dates back to 1890. Our remodel effectively left the perimeter walls intact while fully replacing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing in addition to extensive structural work.

This is not the return of the late-night, rowdy Beaumont but the restoration of an iconic Chicago building and the birth of a new neighborhood restaurant. To that end, we wanted to keep a name that is both historically tied to the building and etched into our city’s memory. We added the “s” because it’s the Chicago way.

Beaumont’s is an old-school, tavern-driven American restaurant without a single nod to the present. As we hope to open a neighborhood restaurant that stands the test of time and pay homage to the building’s rich history, everything from construction materials to the menu leans in to a bygone era.
